Over 20+ years of experience allows us to create individualized treatment programs to best meet your needs.
Individual Therapy Sessions
Our Board Certified Speech Language Pathologists provide individualized, fun, and engaging sessions to meet your child's needs. Parents are provided with information every step of the way to understand and help their child's progress. Most children are seen once or twice a week, for 30 minute treatment sessions with home activities suggested. Experience the difference therapy at A Sound Beginning can make for your child.
Listening and Spoken Language Therapy
Listening and Spoken Language development for infants, toddlers, and young children with hearing loss is provided by Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapists. Young children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak following the Nine Principles of Auditory Verbal Therapy. These researched-based principles are interwoven into developmentally appropriate activities with even our youngest listeners. Parents are active participants in our program to ensure they receive the skills and support needed to make spoken language a reality for their child.

Three - Four/Five Years
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children who are learning to listen and speak benefit from a group learning program in addition to individual therapy. Our programs follow the InvestiGators Early Learning Program, a MD State approved preschool curriculum. This language based program builds children's readiness to learn in an academic setting, social and emotional skills, spoken language and communication skills, literacy, math, creative expression, and scientific thinking. These groups are led by professionals specializing in spoken language development in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.
