Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopment disorder that encompasses a broad set of social and behavioral challenges. Although ASD presents differently in every child, many children experience deficits in social communication and present with repetitive and restricted behaviors. Speech-language pathologists play a critical role in the evaluation and treatment of children with ASD.
Since no child with Autism Spectrum Disorder is the same, we believe that therapy should be individually-tailored to meet the specific needs of each child. Whether it’s demonstrating appropriate emotional reactions or introducing alternative and augmentative communication systems, we target the skills that will benefit the child most. Our team is dedicated to collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals in order to maximize the child’s abilities and improve his or her communication skills.
